I agree, what he did was in no way unsportsmanlike. By the definition they have "drawing attention to yourself" it should be a penalty just for crossing the goal line and scoring, nothing does more to draw attention to yourself than that.

Vote in my poll about whether or not the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty should be redefined. Don't just simply vote. Explain yourself.
I vote that it should be redefined. After that Pinstripe Bowl ending when Kansas St. scored the touchdown which could have helped them win the game, the player saluted to like the camera or the fans. They got flagged for excessive celebration. I think if you score a touchdown then you should be able to celebrate. If you taunt, then you should be flagged.

I think at all levels of football, players should be allowed to get excited about a score. If the celebration shows up the other team, then it should be a penalty. Otherwise, let them show some excitement.
Also, this is too subjective. What is unsportsmanlike/excessive celebration to one ref may not be so to the other ref.
That's why I think there should be a redefinition of the penalty, such as taunting the other team. Make a more specific definition. I mean when Tennessee scored a touchdown last night one time there was more celebration than a simple salute to the crowd. Kansas St. might have won that game if it weren't for the penalty. It's one of those "you will never know" situations.
Also, those who disagree with me, explain your position and why. Some of us may be missing something that you see. As I said, don't just simply cast your vote. Try to explain.
theres no doubt that the call against KSU was BS and the officials need to be made aware of how terrible that call really was.
im with the majority, unless a guy is taunting another team or being really outrageous in their celebration, let them show some emotion, especially late in the game.
the game reminded me so much of the JIB game for the state title a few years ago, it was eerily similiar.

what I hate is that this happened a few hours too late. If an Army guy had done that in the Amed Forces Bowl, and gotten flagged, THAT would've been EVERYWHERE today.
"drawing attention to yourself" is almost as dumb as the BCS. I guess a one-handed catch will get a flag in a couple of years.
You know, word is, next year, showboating BEFORE you cross the goal line will nullify the TD and be a spot-penalty. Got no prob. with that. But afer you cross, USC should ONLY be called if it's directed towards an opponent.
The coaches should stop the showboating. Anybody should be allowed to spike the ball, or salute the crowd, I can't really see the big issue as long as it isn't in someone's face. Most of the crap should be called "delay" and flagged for 5 yards, I hate seeing someone strut and stomp for 20 seconds after making a tackle for a 1 yard loss.
